Join us on a 100, 60 or 25 mile bike ride in aid of Stroke Association - back for a fourth year! Setting off from the grounds of Blaise Castle in Bristol, this exciting and beautiful circular ride skirts the edge of the Cotswolds on the more challenging outward leg, turns towards the Severn, before making its way down the flats of the Severn Valley near Berkeley Castle - then onto the finish, where a hero’s welcome awaits! The Celebrating Age Festival shows the community what assets older people can be, shows younger people that growing older offers opportunities to take a full part in the community, and invites older people to join in the many activities that Bristol offers. The event will launch this year on Saturday 23rd September 2017 with the Celebration Day at City Hall, College Green. The Celebrating Age Festival is hosted by Age UK Bristol. 1940s Weekend at Avon Valley Railway1940s Weekend
Join us as we turn back the clock for a weekend of vintage fun and look at what life was like during World War Two. See displays of military vehicles, enjoy 1940s style entertainment from singers (, watch vintage Punch & Judy and barrel organ shows and try a WW2 recipe in our Buffet. here will also be vintage bus rides to Warmley Signal Box and a display of the former Somerdale factory Sentinel locomotive which is being restored at the railway. You can even keep an eye out for ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ and ‘King George VI’ who will arrive and depart the railway each day in a military convoy and give speeches during the day! 23rd - 24th September.
